Avenue of Ice Festival
December 17, 9:00am – 1:30pm, Downtown Appleton
Enjoy fun for the whole family featuring the Downtown Appleton Farm Market, One Stop Elf Shop, Cookie Decorating, and The Holiday Gift Market inside City Center from 9:00am to 1:30pm. And don’t forget a visit with Santa at Gabriel Furniture from 10:30am – 2:30pm! Unfortunately due to the winter storm, all outdoor events for the Avenue of Ice Festival have been canceled.
First Improvedy Show!
December 17, 7:30pm – 9:00pm, Appleton North High School Theatre
Improvedy presents hilarious games and sketches based on audience suggestions, performed in the style of the hit television show, “Whose Line is It Anyway?” This popular performance group began in 2000 and is comprised of students ranging from freshmen to seniors. They are the only high school improv comedy troupe performing in Appleton. General admission is $5 and concessions will be available!
Kayak Demo
December 18, 12:00pm – 2:00pm, Fox West YMCA (Greenville)
This kayak demo is open to the public hosted by the Fox West YMCA and the North East Wisconsin Paddlers. All you need is your swim wear and a smile! The YMCA will provide kayaks and all of the necessary gear.
5th Annual Chili Cook-Off
December 18, 1:00pm, Plan B (Kaukauna)
Come cheer on the Packers playing against the Bears, and enjoy a friendly Chili Cook-Off! Free for everyone to enter and to taste test. The start time will depend on the time of the game. If you’d like to participate in the cook-off, have your chili ready in a medium sized crock pot registered before kickoff. All customers will be able to sample all of the entries during the first 2 quarters of the game. The winner will receive a ¼ barrel party, personalized trophy, and bragging rights for a year! All other participants will receive a consolation prize.
Canvas Painting Workshop
December 19, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, The Office Sports Bar & Grill
Come paint and your first drink is on the house! The painting that will be done is a fun Santa Clause canvas, just in time for Christmas. This painting is designed for beginner adults, so no painting experience is necessary. This workshop usually runs between 2 and 2.5 hours. You’ll be encouraged to make the painting your own by changing colors and other details if you’d like. Price is $35 a person, which includes supplies, workshop fee, the canvas and your first drink.
